If you dont know who he is, Elvgren was an American artist who painted "girl next-door" style pin-ups - you have probably seen alot of them without even realising it. Infact the girl in my background is a Gil Elvgren painting!
A quick google search will open you up to the world of Gil Elvgren, but to get you started here is one of my favourites!
